Our Lutheran Faith...
"The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is one of the largest Christian denominations in the United States, with about 4 million members in nearly 10,000 congregations across the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
We are the church that shares a living, daring confidence in God’s grace. For us, as the ELCA, this faith comes through the good news of Jesus Christ and gives us the freedom and the courage to wonder, discover and boldly participate in what God is up to in the world.
We are a church that is always being made new, and at the same time, is deeply rooted in Scripture, Lutheran theology and Lutheran confessions. We are also rooted in the vibrant, diverse communities and rich histories of our congregations. It’s through these roots that the Holy Spirit guides and nourishes us so that we can be a church that is both resilient and always new.
We welcome you to join this community of faith — the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America — regardless of your age, race, gender, life experience, complexities and questions. You have a unique story that can only add to the richness of the larger story that makes up the ELCA. There is a place for you here!"

Our Mission...
Good Shepherd Day School’s mission is to serve God and our country by teaching and practicing the values that are important for being a successful, spiritual and intellectual member of our 21st century society.
Our goal is to be a premiere early learning center in our community by offering a unique educational experience for children, families and staff.
We will accomplish this by grounding our program on our Lutheran faith and values, as well as our belief that all children learn best when adults acknowledge their individuality, joy of life, and curiosity about the world they live in.
Our Values...
Primarily, we are energized by God’s love for all people. From that primary inspiration grows the vision we have to give every child an early start in learning about the Christian faith and its values in order to build a self-confident, loving and moral child and future-adult.
Children come first at Good Shepherd Day School. We recognize that childhood is a special time in the course of a person’s life. Childhood should be respected and rejoiced! We will always be a school that understands this fundamental truth and will make sure that making a happy childhood is at the heart of everything we do.
Change- it is part of growth. Taking the butterfly life cycle as a metaphor for the process of change and growth, it is natural and it is a good thing! Children grow- not always at the same time, just like all caterpillars do not transform on the same day. We respect the process of growth and lay a nurturing foundation with families to ensure it happens for all children.
